Yukra Projects Private Limited is a reputed business engineering solutions and technology company with a strong footprint in renewable energy across India and Africa.
The company specialises in energy solutions from waste and provides value additions in the carbon field leading into the Global Green Circular Economy.
Yukra is well-positioned with international players to build a fruitful Green Circular Economy for the Tamil Nadu Government and bring it global attention and recognition.
In India
- Annual Waste – 62 million tonnes
- Plastic Waste – 5.6 million tonnes
- Biomedical Waste – 0.17 million tonnes
- Hazardous waste – 7.90 million tonnes
- E-waste – 1.5 million tonnes
Pyrolysis plant
Pyrolysis is the thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures in an inert atmosphere. It involves a change of chemical composition.
1 Pyrolysis plant – Can convert 21,900 Tons of plastics per annum into usable oil.
3 – 5 Plants can half the current plastic problem and take the problem of the government hands. Freeing up more 300 acres of dump yard right now.
98% of the carbon emissions coming out of this process is trapped and used leading to enregy loss and safe environmental upliftment.

Waste in India
Tamil Nadu produces the 4th highest amount of waste per day as of 2019 with 13968 MT. It consists of Municipal Solid Waste, Biomedical Wastes, Lead Acid Battery Waste, Hazardous Waste, Electronics Waste ( E-Waste), Radioactive Waste, Plastic Wastes, (Currently under discussion –Mercury Waste – GOI), House hold hazardous waste, Liquid waste or effluents.
Where can we add value?
- Aerial Survey of Dump Yards – For volumetric availability – 95% accuracy of weightage in all TN dumpyards. Providing key info for swift decision making.
- Remediation of landfills. Segregate, Recycle, Upcycle, Ethically Dispose and reclaim
- Conversion of non-bio degradable plastic waste into petroleum products
- Open the landfills into ethical disposing thus plugging it into the carbon economy and bringing accountability and good will.
Waste - TN Perspective
Current waste management process in Tamilnadu is given below with steps :
Waste is collected from source.
Segregated / Un Segregated waste is collected.
Unorganised segregation happens at various levels.
Segregated waste is used in various levels of upcycles and recycles process in an un-organised fashion.
Almost 90% of the remainder waste ends up in landfills which includes plastics and non degradeable materials.
Waste - The Human Impact
The world produces more than 400 million tons of plastic every year, 79% is thrown in landfills, dumps or the environment, 12% is incinerated and only 9% recycled. In fact, 32% of packaging waste, estimated at 130 million tonnes in 2020, leaked into the environment and just about every ecosystem in our planet, including at least 83% of all our water, tap or bottled. There is more than 150 million tons of plastic in our oceans, killing millions of marine birds and creatures each year. It would cost $13B per year to clean up this mess, which if left unattended, will lead to more plastic than fish in our oceans.
